Meet the Skip Rat team

Hello, I'm Susie and I work alongside my husband Nick transforming once fabulous, but now rather tired or outdated, furniture into beautiful and bespoke pieces .

We work from our cottage in a lovely little village called Great Ayton. Located in the North Yorkshire moors, I think its only claim to fame is that its famous for being the birthplace of Captain Cook, Oh and lets not forget our famous local butcher, people come from far and wide to taste Petch's pork pies, so don't forget to grab one if you are popping up to see us and don't forget to pack your walking boots as the scenery and walks are stunning here.

 

 So who does what ?

I started painting furniture a few years ago and since then  the business has grown rapidly into a thriving full time job with Nick (The Apprentice ) joining me last year.  He tends to lurk quietly in the background but he's a massively important  part of our business getting stuck into all the prep work,(the dirty stuff ) deliveries and collections. Meanwhile I do the painting,(the pretty stuff), liase with clients and try to fathom out all the social media. (Apparently I spend far too much time on my phone but I have to say I've met so many wonderful friends and inspiring creatives through Facebook  and Instagram  This is where you can take a peek at all the' behind the scenes' bits - its where we have a bit of fun - after all isn't  that's what life should be all about ?
